Hi, I'm Patricia

Here's a little bit more about me...

About Me

Initially I trained as a psychologist and later re-trained and qualified as a client-centred and integrative psychotherapist in 2006. I work from the humanistic and integrative perspective and so I believe that you are the expert on your life. So for me counselling/therapy is not about giving advice or prescribing solutions. Rather I believe that every person can find their own way forward when they are involved in a safe therapeutic relationship.  Additionally, I believe the the body is a huge resource in therapy and so I incorporate body-psychotherapy as well as traditional talk therapy particularly in my work with trauma.

Between 2011 and 2024, I worked in a group setting with people who had attempted suicide or who were struggling with suicidal ideation. I currently lecture as a core-faculty member on the Dublin Counselling & Therapy Centre’s Masters Programme in Counselling and Psychotherapy as well as on a number of trauma training courses and I have been involved in the training of counsellors and psychotherapists since 2008. In August 2024 I moved into the area of fostering, providing therapeutic support to foster carers. I also offer webinars and workshops in areas of mental health including anxiety, mindfulness, self-care and developing happiness.
